3 Options For Dealing With Used Office Furniture

Posted on

Even though your existing office furniture might have worked well for your business for a long time, you might have decided that it's finally time for an upgrade. If so, you may want to make arrangements for dealing with your old office furniture first. These are a few options that you can consider.

1. Put it to Another Use

For one thing, before you completely get rid of all of your old office equipment, you may want to consider whether or not you can put it to another use. For example, even if your existing office chairs might be a bit too worn out for everyday use, it might be a good idea to keep them stored somewhere so that you can use them as backup seating for large meetings. Old filing cabinets might be too unsightly to be used in visible places in your office, but you could use them in a storage room to store old files, where they won't be seen often. Some furniture might also be able to be refinished or reupholstered so that you can continue using it.

2. Sell It

Even though you might be ready for new furniture for your office, some start-up somewhere that is on a tight budget might find that your furniture is a perfect fit for their new business. Consider asking around or advertising your furniture for sale to see if someone might be interested in buying it. This could be a good way to recoup a little bit of the money that you are spending on new office furniture as well.

3. Donate It

There are schools, non-profit organizations and more out there that could possibly benefit from your old office furniture. Although you might be ready to give your office a fresh look, for example, a non-profit organization that is working to do good things might be able to make use of your old furniture so that it can save some of its budget for its projects, for example. Look into your donation options if you'd like to get rid of old furniture and contribute to a good cause at the same time.

If you have old office furniture in your office and are thinking about replacing it, one thing that you might be thinking about is what you are going to do with your existing office furniture. Fortunately, you do have quite a few options. These are three of the things that you can do so that you can make room for the new furniture that your business is investing in.
